After checking out Primark's AW12 collection I have been pleasantly surprised with what it has to offer. But do you ever get the feeling that these clothes just wont look as good on as they do on the models.
I thought I would try on one of the latest pieces that I paticularly liked.
These trousers really follow the Baroque theme that is becoming a regular hit on our high streets.
They are great because they are high waisted which is something I cannot live without in the trouser department. But damn those short legs of mine seem to make every single pair of trousers way to long for me.. and I CANNOT stand when you get those rouched baggy bits around the knees and ankles.
So unfortunately as amazing as these trousers were and for such a bargain I just could not deal with trousers way too long! Primark please make leg length smaller.
Many thanks!

Aspire to travel the world...
27th of September sees me set off to travel Thailand and Laos... and I cannot wait.
The backpack is purchased and the countdown begins, although wouldnt go as far as the travels to 'find myself' but having a couple of months to explore a different culture and almost celebrating finally finishing my degree. Hoorah.
Thailand has a culture that I haven't ever explored before and I thought I would look into young designers who have been influenced by the culture.
Wisharawish Akarasantisook has won the chance to team up and collaborate with Mango.
These images are some of his collection that saw him win, with inspiration coming from Buddhist temples, the relationship between life, death and nature and handmade pieces, something which I can't wait to see as well as exploring the fashion boutiques and markets to grab some unique bargains.

Entering the Real World (Whatever that may be)
So the dissertation is finally over, uni is done and dusted. HELL TO THE YEAH.
Yet the realisation that I now have to join this working world, is rather scary. But hey im up for anything!

The cool English kids just having a laugh!

Jeffrey Campbell: The ultimate shoes
Jeffrey Campbell's latest collection Resort 2012 Los Angeles takes shoes to another level!
These unique shoes tell you it's possible to be outrageous, bringing spikes glitter and platform to an all new extreme that makes Jeffrey Campbell one of a kind.
Now I've tried the lita platform boots and by god I literally went from 5ft 2 to 6ft 'hello down there'. So trying to walk in them proved... erm... a tad difficult, let alone actually embarking out on a night out with them. As well as the slight feeling when wearing point shoes and standing on point on those hard wooden blocks kinda sprang to mind.
Yet I still want these shoes! why because us girls seem to want the bad boy. The bad boy in the shoe world.... Jeffrey Campbell!
Please someone join me in loving these shoes.

Optical Illusion
Have been noticing the latest in dresses, the optical illusion dress, creating shapely curves all through the pattern use on a dress.
Kim Kardashian and Victoria Beckham are wearing an illusion dress by Alexander McQueen and god it bloody works!
I love the fact these hollywood celebrities are finally going for the fuller figure, and Kim looks amazing, although the dress maybe a litle dissapointing once its off, its nice to see people embracing their curves and offering us "normal people" the chance to embrace our curvier figures too!
Thumbs up I say!
It seems that high street stores are already hitting up this trend with New Look, Topshop and Very saying hello illusional curves.

'Now this is a story all about... fresh prince fashion craze'
Night in with the housemates leads to watching a couple of episodes of fresh prince of bel air. God their clothing is bloody awesome. The insanely coloured jackets, even Vivienne the mum pulls of some pretty nice jump suits that I actually want so bad. The snap back has most certainly made a come back!
When watching this show when I was younger I probably would have laughed at the clothing but now the louder the shirt the better. I love how much my fashion taste has changed.

Vintage?
After interviewing Catherine Wright an owner of a Vintage boutique in Southampton, I actually questioned what actually VINTAGE is? Is it just how old something is, is it bringing back the trends of previous era's or now a new marketing strategy for franchises like Urban Outfitters and Topshop to sell (I feel rather overpriced clothing) which really has just been made to look 'Vintagesque'.
Catherine said in the interview how wearing vintage clothing can almost give you the energy or the previous owner and as true as it is fashion speaks and tells a story of life before us and myself.
What will our generation bring to this vintage cycle?
Vintage technology? Everything I want to say our generation made popular actually has spawned from another time, and its insane to think that we live in a fashion cycle. Although we did invent the 'chav' could this catch on in the future. God I hope not.
Lets hope that these small individual vintage stores survive and continue to tell the story of generations through fashion.

Creepers
I have been fascinated about Undergrounds and their shoes, and really just wanted to bloody try a pair of creepers on just to see what they look like.
Today saw the appearance of Undergrounds and Dr Martins to Office shoes in Southampton, and I JUST had to try them!! Although many people telling me they would hit me if I purchased them or that they remind them of 'retard' shoes. Guilty enough I actually rather liked them...although £85 there is not enough money in the bank right now!
Hmmm I wonder if these will actually catch on or will always remain an aquired taste...
